Deer Valley invites public to watch helicopters install new lift towers for resort expansion

PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort is inviting the community to witness a spectacular on-mountain helicopter event as the resort continues its largest expansion in history. The “Expanded Excellence: Future in Flight” event will take place Sunday, Sept. 7, atop Bald Mountain, where helicopters will install lift towers for the new Revelator Express lift on Park Peak.

Deer Valley Resort President and COO Todd Bennett said the event is a chance for families and community members to celebrate the resort’s progress. “We look forward to sharing this next milestone with community members who shared their excitement and enthusiasm for Deer Valley’s expansion at our first Future in Flight event in July,” Bennett said. “We invite families and friends to celebrate the progress our teams have made this summer and spend the afternoon on the mountain enjoying food trucks, activities, and live entertainment.”

The Revelator Express lift is part of Deer Valley’s Expanded Excellence initiative, which includes more than doubling skiable terrain, upgrading key infrastructure, reimagining Snow Park, and opening the new Deer Valley East Village. This winter, Deer Valley will debut seven new chairlifts, including the 10-passenger East Village Express gondola connecting the East Village to Park Peak, along with nearly 80 new ski runs. The resort will now feature 31 chairlifts, over 200 ski runs, and 4,300 skiable acres. The Deer Valley East Village will also add 1,200 day-skier parking spaces, improving convenience for guests.

Event attendees can reach the top of Bald Mountain via Silver Lake and Sterling Express lifts for prime views of the helicopter installation. Deer Valley is offering free scenic chairlift tickets to the first 750 attendees starting at 10 a.m. at the Snow Park Ticket Office. Tickets are walk-up only, and after the complimentary allotment, rides can be purchased from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children ages 5–12 receive one free ticket with each paying adult, and children 4 and under ride free. Complimentary parking is available at Snow Park Lodge.

After the helicopter spectacle, guests can enjoy an afternoon on Silver Lake Lawn with food trucks, live music, and family-friendly entertainment. Iron Canyon Echoes will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by DJ Dolph from 2 to 4:30 p.m., along with kids’ activities, face painting, and more. Chairlifts remain open until 5 p.m.

This event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the transformation of Deer Valley Resort, giving the public a front-row seat to the resort’s ambitious expansion ahead of the 2025/26 ski season.
