Deer Valley, Arts Council seek artists for children’s book illustrations

PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort and the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County are seeking regional artists to illustrate a new children’s book and updated coloring book featuring the ski resort’s alpine setting and mascot characters.
The collaboration, announced Wednesday, will donate 5% of profits from both titles to the arts council to support local programming for artists, youth and families.
Artists must be Utah residents, with preference given to Summit County residents. The selected artist or team will receive a flat stipend of $6,000. The Request for Proposal (RFP) can be viewed at: https://www.pcscarts.org/blog/
Applications require an artist biography, concept sketches, mascot character designs, three samples of previous work, a written project description and professional references. Complete submissions must be emailed to kendall@pcscarts.org with the subject line “Deer Valley Children’s Book Illustration Proposal” by Sept. 22.
