UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST — Stage 1 fire restrictions on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest will be lifted beginning Saturday, September 6, 2025, forest officials announced.
The change means dispersed campfires will once again be allowed in areas where they are normally permitted. Still, officials emphasized that wildfire risk remains and urged visitors to recreate responsibly by fully extinguishing campfires before leaving.
Even with restrictions lifted, the use of fireworks, tracer ammunition, and other incendiary devices remains permanently prohibited on all federal lands.
Forest officials said the easing of restrictions reflects improved conditions but reminded the public that vigilance is always necessary in order to prevent human-caused wildfires.
