Barstool’s Dave Portnoy talks pizza, Park City, and Utes football in Utah visit

PARK CITY, Utah — Dave Portnoy, the founder and personality behind Barstool Sports, stopped in Salt Lake City to watch the University of Utah play Texas Tech. Portnoy joined the Fox Big Noon Kickoff show, which featured the game on their program.

The final score was 34–10, with Texas Tech defeating the Utes. The game marked the Big 12 conference opener for both teams.

While in Utah, Portnoy also did one of his famous “One Bite” pizza reviews at The Pie, a popular pizza spot near the U of U campus. He gave the thin crust cheese pizza a 6.9/10.

Before the game on Saturday, Portnoy took to social media to write about a trip he took to Park City, saying he’s “debating becoming an awesome skier and buying a ski lodge.”

It’s too be seen whether Portnoy follows through on his vision of carving turns in Park City. For now, while Utah fans may be licking their wounds from Saturday’s loss, at least the pizza (and powder) got a slice of the spotlight.
