Summit County announces Old Ranch Road closure through August 23

PARK CITY, Utah — Beginning Monday, a length of Old Ranch Road will be closed to vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic. The closure, located approximately 0.25 miles south of Round Valley Trailhead, will last until Saturday, August 23.

Summit County officials advised residents who live west of the closure area to access their homes by SR-224 and those who are north of the closure or on Ranch Creek Lane to access their homes via Highland Drive. Project coordinators have worked with emergency services and school bus routes on the closure.

The closure is part of multiple ongoing projects on Old Ranch Road. Since the project kicked off earlier this summer, crews have installed underground conduit and vaults in coordination with Rocky Mountain Power, completed a paved trail section connecting to the Round Valley trailhead, and built two new traffic islands.

Work on installing storm drains and grading the road is underway. The next steps of the project include removing wiring and poles with Rocky Mountain Power and paving the road.
