PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Miners rallied in the fourth quarter Friday night to defeat Wasatch High School 28-23 in their season opener at Dozier Field.

The Miners trailed 23-14 entering the fourth quarter but rallied behind two touchdown catches from Charlie Cusimano and a 12-yard score from Brogan Price on a pass from Josh Hofer that gave them the lead with less than four minutes remaining. Luke Diamond’s second interception closed out the game.

Parents packed the stands alongside alumni and younger families, creating a community crowd that erupted with each Miner touchdown and stood for the final defensive stop.

Just hours before kickoff, the iconic 25‑foot “PC” letters on Park City Hill were spray‑painted black and gold, the Wasps’ colors, in a rivalry‑fueled prank. Wasatch student council restored them to white by 5 p.m., and the stunt only heightened Friday night’s stakes.

With the win, the Miners extended their unbeaten streak over Wasatch since 2021.
