PARK CITY, Utah — The team representing Park City Municipal took first place at the 2025 Utah Recreation & Parks Association (URPA) Lifeguard Games held this past weekend in Kearns, edging out 21 other teams from across Utah in a close competition.
Team members Britt Shunn-Mitchell, Caleb Judkins, Alexis Moon, Corey Wendel, and Nonie Frishette showcased their skills across a series of timed events, testing everything from CPR and first aid to water rescues, physical fitness, and decision-making under pressure. The win came down to the wire, with Park City securing victory by just six points.
“This win means a great deal — not just to me as their coach, but to our entire Park City community,” said Aquatics Manager Stran Tassainer. “It reflects the standard of excellence we strive for in our aquatics programs. They competed with skill, integrity, and heart, and they’ve made us all proud.”
The win comes at a notable moment for Park City Recreation. Both the city’s lap and leisure pools are undergoing a complete rebuild, and the department plans to celebrate the progress with two upcoming pool parties at the PC MARC on August 8 and August 14.
