Park City Hill gets rivalry makeover ahead of Miners–Wasps game

PARK CITY, Utah — The 25-foot “PC” letters on Park City Hill were spray-painted black and gold ahead of Friday night’s rivalry football game between the Park City Miners and Wasatch Wasps.

The stunt — presumed to be the work of Wasatch High School students — swapped the iconic white letters for the Wasps’ school colors.

As of 5:00 p.m. on Friday the black and gold colors had been removed.

The annual matchup between Park City and Wasatch is known for its high energy, and this year’s game will be played on the Miners’ home field. The Wasatch team hasn’t defeated the Miners since 2021.

This isn’t the first time the hillside letters have been used to make a statement. In May, Park City students wrapped the PC in rainbow colors in protest against Utah’s flag ban.
