PARK CITY, Utah — Park City High School has been ranked the second-best traditional public high school in Utah and the fifth-best high school overall in the state, according to the U.S. News & World Report 2025–2026 Best High Schools rankings released this week.
Nationally, the school ranked No. 909 out of nearly 18,000 high schools, placing it in the top 5 percent of public schools in the country. Rankings are based on state test performance, graduation rates, and college readiness.
Park City High School earned the top ranking in Utah for both the College Readiness Index and the College Curriculum Breadth Index. The school reported an 82 percent participation rate in Advanced Placement exams, with 74 percent of students passing at least one exam.
“This recognition is a testament to the commitment of our students, expertise and passion of staff, and the ongoing dedication of families,” Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman said. “Academic success at Park City High School is built on strong community partnerships that engage, challenge, and guide every student, beginning with the early years and continuing throughout their educational journey.”
The school’s 94 percent graduation rate surpasses the state average. According to U.S. News data, the student body comprises 22 percent minority enrollment, with 16 percent of students considered economically disadvantaged.
Park City High School serves about 1,540 students in grades 9 through 12 and is the only high school in the Park City School District. Administrators said the rankings reflect the district’s emphasis on rigorous academics alongside programs designed to serve the broader community.
