PARK CITY, Utah — Rancho Luna Lobos, owned by Fernando and Dana Ramirez, is seeking homes for six active and retired working dogs, including Alaskan Malamutes, Alaskan Huskies and a Kelpie.
Each dog has unique needs and personalities, with many accustomed to high-energy activities such as skijoring, bikejoring, and hiking.
Available dogs include:
Aslan, a 7-year-old Alaskan Malamute, is neutered and can run skijor or bikejor but also enjoys relaxing. He has food allergies that can cause skin irritation and requires a specialized, bland diet.
Arctic, a 4-year-old Alaskan Husky, was part of Rancho Luna Lobos’ 2022 World Team. She is a strong runner but does not enjoy tours.
Mr. Torch, a 10-year-old Alaskan Husky, is a dependable hiking partner, can hike off-leash and enjoys lounging.
ZZ Loupe, a 3-year-old Alaskan Husky, prefers mono-sports such as skijor or bikejor rather than running in team formation. She needs consistency with commands and could do well in a family setting.
Brownie Girl, an 11-year-old Alaskan Husky, is affectionate, enjoys walks and napping on couches, and had a notable athletic career. While the Ramirezes may keep her, they are open to adoption by the right family.
Zip, a 5-year-old Kelpie, is energetic, loves to play, knows basic commands and has excellent recall. She should not be left free roaming for extended periods, as she may wander.
The Ramirezes note that Alaskan Malamutes are larger, stronger versions of Siberian Huskies, often seen in film portrayals. Alaskan Huskies are mixed working breeds not recognized by the American Kennel Club, and Kelpies are known for herding livestock and excelling in agility sports.
Training is available for adopters through @thatlilnuggetdog.
