WANSHIP, Utah — Interstate 80 eastbound is closed at milepost 157 near Wanship after 500 gallons of paint was spilled onto the roadway, according to Lt. Cameron Roden from the Utah Highway Patrol. The accident involved a semi-truck that rear-ended a traffic control truck with a crash attenuator trailer and all the paint.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and crews are working to clear off the right shoulder so traffic can begin flowing slowly. According to Roden, one lane of traffic opened at 3 p.m.
UDOT is advising drivers to use alternate routes and avoid the area. Heavy delays are expected, with the current eastbound queue stretching approximately 2 miles.
The estimated road reopening time has not been determined, according to UDOT’s traffic alert issued at 2:15 p.m. Monday.
This is a developing story.
