SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Beulah Fire has grown to 4,341 acres with no containment as of Friday morning, according to Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 4.
Started Aug. 7 in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Crews are working against challenging weather conditions, including gusty outflow winds and expected thunderstorms through the weekend, which could hinder air operations.
Ground crews are prioritizing structure protection in the Hinckley Boy Scout Camp and Christmas Meadows, with additional assessments underway in Manorlands, Uintalands, and Monviso. Firefighters are also working to link dozer lines to previous burn scars to help slow the spread.
More than 600 personnel are assigned to the fire, supported by 6 helicopters, 22 engines, 14 crews, and 2 dozers. Livestock removal is being coordinated with local permittees.
