Beulah Fire grows to 2,310 acres as crews battle challenging conditions

The Beulah Fire burning on the north slope of the Uinta Mountains has grown to an estimated 2,310 acres with 240 personnel assigned to the incident.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Beulah Fire, burning in the High Uintas Wilderness on the north slope of the Uinta Mountains, has grown to an estimated 2,310 acres with 240 personnel assigned to the incident. The fire, first reported on August 7, is located roughly 7.5 miles southeast of the Bear River Ranger Station along Highway 150.

As of today, management of the fire is transitioning to the Great Basin Team 4, a Complex Incident Management Team. Officials say firefighter and public safety remain the top priority while crews employ full suppression strategies to protect nearby communities, infrastructure, recreation areas, and cultural resources.

Critical fire weather, with high winds and low humidity near Red Flag criteria, has fueled explosive growth. The blaze is actively burning in heavy timber with short crown runs and long-range spotting. The forecast calls for slightly cooler temperatures and northwest winds of 10–15 mph, which may influence fire behavior in the coming days.
