60-year-old driver dies after collision in Heber City intersection

HEBER CITY, Utah — A serious traffic collision at a Heber City intersection resulted in one fatality on August 11, according to a release from Heber City Police Department.

At approximately 2:35 p.m. on Monday, Heber City Police and Wasatch Fire District responded to a crash at 400 South and 500 East. Preliminary investigation found that a vehicle traveling eastbound on 400 South failed to stop at a posted stop sign. It was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound vehicle on 500 East.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 60-year-old man, was seriously injured and transported to Heber Valley Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the southbound vehicle was evaluated at the scene but did not sustain serious injuries.

Utah Highway Patrol assisted with crash documentation using mapping technology and aerial photography. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Authorities are withholding the name of the deceased until family notification is complete. The investigation remains ongoing.
