Wildfire near Woodland closes Highway 35, Burns one outbuilding

WOODLAND, Utah — A wildfire that briefly closed Highway 35 near Woodland in Summit County on Tuesday has been fully contained at 3.8 acres, officials said.

The fire, now called the Woodland 35 Fire, began when a motorist pulled over due to a flat tire. One outbuilding was lost. Highway 35 has reopened to one-lane traffic.

Initial estimates placed the blaze at 12 acres, but later mapping refined the size. Multiple agencies responded to contain the blaze.
