SNOWBIRD, Utah — Snowbird is asking the public to help name its new mid-mountain restaurant, set to reopen for the 2025-26 winter season. The venue will replace the long-standing Mid-Gad Restaurant, which operated for more than 50 years.
The resort has narrowed the options to three final names and is encouraging community members to vote. Those who select the winning name will be entered into a drawing for prize bags filled with Snowbird merchandise.
The Nest
An alpine haven perched on the Snowbird slopes. With an inviting feel and sweeping views, its design evokes the comfort of a mountainside nest—sheltering, elevated and intimately tied to its high-altitude home.
Vitrea
As clear and luminous as the Wasatch air. Drawn from the Latin for “glass,” Vitrea reflects its airy openness, while nodding subtly to its namesake, the Atrium—elegant, modern and effortlessly translucent. Featuring 145 precision-crafted window panels made in Switzerland, Vitrea is a testament to both clarity and craftsmanship.
The Cube
Bold, unmistakable and impossible to ignore. While not a true cube, its striking geometry makes it an architectural anchor—Snowbird’s own mid-mountain statement piece. Not too dissimilar to the Las Vegas Sphere, it’s a landmark that sparks conversation: “You have to see The Cube.”
