Tour Des Suds rolls back into Park City, early bird registration discounts end soon

PARK CITY, Utah — The Tour Des Suds mountain bike race returns Saturday, Sept. 7, for the 41st year with Offset Bier and Level Cross Brewing providing the suds. The 7-mile race climbs 2,200 vertical feet from City Park to Empire Pass and welcomes both competitive racers and costumed riders. The early bird registration discount ends July 31, with Mountain Trails Foundation noting the event sells out each year.

The mass start begins at 10 a.m. at City Park, followed by post-race celebrations at 11 a.m. and an awards ceremony at 1 p.m. Registration is open, with prices increasing throughout the summer.

Early registration runs through July 31 and costs $40 for adults and $15 for youth ages 13–17. Kids 12 and under can ride for free. Pre-registration between Aug. 1 and Sept. 4 increases adult entry to $50 and youth to $20. Day-of registration, if space is available, is $60 for adults and $25 for youth.

Participants can pick up race packets, socks and number plates Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mountain Trails Foundation office, 5792 Highland Drive. Racers receive a pair of custom socks, a meal ticket and a drink—beer for those 21 and older with ID, or a nonalcoholic option.

Presented by Offset Bier and Level Crossing Brewing, the event encourages riders to dress in “festive” costumes, with a themed contest highlighting the most creative entries. Organizers emphasize that e-bikes are not permitted.

Last year’s race saw Chelsea Bolton, 35, finish first overall with a chip time of 46:14, averaging 9.1 mph. She also placed first in the F30–39 division. Kyle Clarke, 15, followed as the top male finisher, winning the M15–19 division in 46:42.

Rounding out the top five were Jameson Harper, 33, and Brendan Cassidy, 30, who tied with a time of 49:10, and Mike Ranzinger, 35, in 49:57. Three of the top five finishers competed in the M30–39 category.
