Stay safe this summer: County health department launches safety pledge

SUMMIT COUNTY — Summer is in full swing, and the Summit County Health Department is encouraging residents to take the Summer Safety Pledge and enjoy the season safely.

“With all the activities and events going on, it’s easy to overlook some crucial summer safety tips for being outside and recreating,” wrote Deputy Health Director Kendra Babitz. “Our team of public health professionals is committed to providing you with the information you need to have a healthy and enjoyable summer.”

The department’s campaign includes safety tips for vehicles, water recreation, ATVs and UTVs, as well as pedestrian and bike safety.

By taking the pledge, participants are automatically entered into weekly prize drawings to take place every Monday from June 16 through August 18.

Take the pledge to stay safe this summer.
