SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Several Summit County initiatives are among the recipients of more than $460,000 in new grant funding from the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation, which announced 78 awards on Thursday to support education and STEM programs across the region.
The foundation’s latest grant cycle focuses on expanding access to learning opportunities and essential skill development, with a particular emphasis on STEM programming.
Locally, two Summit County programs received funding. One initiative serving both Summit and Wasatch counties will use the grant to provide nightly meals from local restaurants to adult education students. Park City-based nonprofit PC Tots also received funding to offer tuition scholarships, helping low-income families access affordable, high-quality childcare.
“The foundation is delighted to support local organizations that uplift the next generation of STEM professionals,” said Dick Garlish, director of the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation and president of Rocky Mountain Power. “We are truly inspired by the communities’ efforts in opening doors for the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers and leaders.”
The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation distributes grants through four annual funding cycles, supporting a wide range of community-based organizations in the areas it serves. This round totaled $469,200 in awards.
