Renovations coming soon to Basin Recreation Fieldhouse

PARK CITY, Utah — Basin Recreation announced that renovations to The Fieldhouse facility will begin later this month, with improvements aimed at increasing accessibility, modernizing amenities, and enhancing the overall user experience.

The project includes relocating the front desk for better access to Studio A and the party room, installing convenient self-serve kiosks, updating the locker rooms with new fixtures and added privacy, and creating a new pool entryway directly from the gymnasium, making it easier for families and other users to access the pool without going through the locker rooms.

The project will take a phased approach, according to Project Planning Manager Alex Bedrosian. Construction around the pool entryway and locker rooms is scheduled to minimize impacts on patrons. Work on the new front desk will be ongoing, but the existing desk will remain in place. Staff are already planning to create a temporary entry and check-in area for when operations shift to the new desk.

The upgrades were largely influenced by the Fieldhouse staff and visitor feedback. “Over time, we have noticed trends in this informal feedback from users around the condition of the locker rooms and the functionality of the pool entrance,” said Bedrosian. “Staff had a large influence on the redesign of the front entry based on years of watching usage grow.”

These changes are meant to enhance visitors’ experience and improve the overall functionality of the space.

Construction is expected to cause some temporary disruptions to facility access. However, Basin Recreation staff will provide regular updates and offer alternatives wherever possible to minimize the impact on users. “Notifications will be shared via email and social media platforms, accompanied by weekly project updates posted on a dedicated website page once work begins,” shared Bedrosian. “Additionally, on-site signage will be displayed at The Fieldhouse to provide advance notice of any anticipated impacts. Our goal is to give patrons as much notice as possible to help them plan accordingly.”

The project’s anticipated completion is later this fall, but crews will have a better idea of an exact time once they begin the project and the contractor is able to fully assess the underlying conditions of the facility.
