Police Log: SAR responds to missing juveniles, trespassing at campground

Monday, July 14

Incident: Business Assist
A grey Mojave Jeep was reported idling outside an office on Prospector Avenue for over three hours.

Tuesday, July 15

Incident: Wildlife Problem
A turkey was seen in the middle of the road near the intersection of Park Avenue and Kearns Boulevard. Traffic backed up, and people reportedly got out of their cars to assess the situation.

Incident: Traffic Violation
While conducting a traffic stop on Holiday Ranch Loop Road, an officer observed a black vehicle fail to slow down or move over for the emergency vehicle. A separate stop was made for the violation.

Wednesday, July 16

Incident: Traffic Hazard
A semi-truck was reported jackknifed and blocking both directions of traffic approximately three minutes up SR-224 coming from Midway.

Thursday, July 17

Incident: Hit and Run
A caller reported their vehicle may have been hit inside the China Bridge parking structure between 3:30 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. on Thursday. 

Friday, July 18

Incident: Missing Persons
Deputies responded to a report of two juvenile females who wandered off near Moosehorn Lake. They were located and safely reunited with their families.

Incident: Search and Rescue
SAR units were mobilized for the missing juveniles near Moosehorn Lake and later alerted to a separate overdue person in the Anderson Pass area near Kings Peak.

Incident: Parking Problem
A citizen called to report a motorhome parked in the Park City High School lot off Kearns Boulevard that had been parked there for several days.

Incident: Citizen Assist
A resident on Empire Avenue asked about options for dealing with an influx of “pot gut” rodents in his yard and whether he could use a BB gun.

Saturday, July 19

Incident: DUI
Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on Lower River Road. The female driver was found to be impaired and was arrested for DUI.

Incident: Intoxication/Trespass
An intoxicated man entered a young woman’s tent at Trial Lake Campground. He left the scene but was later located and arrested.

Sunday, July 20

Incident: Suspicious Activity
A caller reported seeing individuals dancing around a fire on a hill near the Deer Valley roundabout.
