PARK CITY, Utah — Pink‑clad golfers and decorated carts will take over Park City Golf Club on Tuesday, July 29, when the Park City Women’s 9‑Hole Golf League stages its 29th annual Rally for a Cure to raise money for local breast‑cancer causes.
“Everyone we know has been touched by breast cancer,” said league co‑chair Kathy Roll. “This event lets us remember those friends and relatives while putting real dollars behind women’s health care.”
Open to golfers and supporters
The public is invited to stop by between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to purchase $5 opportunity‑drawing tickets for more than 40 themed prize baskets — from picnic setups to spa treatments — and for rounds of golf donated by a dozen Utah courses, including Jeremy Ranch, Park Meadows Country Club, Copper Rock and Black Desert Resort, future home of the 2025 LPGA Championship. Winners will be drawn after the league’s final tee time at 5:30 p.m.
Corporate sponsorships start at $400 and include signage at tee boxes, while individual sponsorships are $250. Supporters can also buy “Hands of Hope,” paper handprints bearing the names of loved ones affected by breast cancer, which will be displayed near the clubhouse.
Where the money goes
All proceeds flow through the national Play for Life Foundation, a 501(c)(3), and are divided among three Utah nonprofits:
Image Reborn Foundation, which provides post‑surgery retreats and support
People’s Health Clinic, offering free mammograms and other women’s health services
Huntsman Cancer Research Institute, funding breast‑cancer studies
Last year’s Rally brought in $19,000 for the trio of organizations.
Utah’s largest nine‑hole league
With more than 350 members, the Park City Women’s 9‑Hole League is the largest women’s nine‑hole league in Utah. Many members decorate their carts with pink flowers and flags and pose for photos beside a cart decorated as a woman’s silhouette, said board member Callaway Zuccarello.
“The night before, we’re stuffing baskets and tying bows,” Zuccarello said. “When the sun comes up, it’s a sea of pink and a celebration of how much this league cares about women’s health.”
