Park City Chamber awards 14 recipients in third annual Sustainable Tourism Grant program

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau announced the recipients of its third annual Sustainable Tourism Grant, awarding funds to 14 organizations for projects promoting environmental stewardship, community well-being and responsible tourism.

Each recipient was eligible to apply for up to $30,000 to support initiatives aligned with the Park City & Summit County Sustainable Tourism Plan, launched in 2022. Projects selected this year range from trail preservation and arts programming to food waste reduction and historic education.

“This year’s grant recipients continue to push the boundaries of what sustainable tourism can look like in a mountain town,” said Morgan Mingle, Director of Sustainable Tourism at the Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau. “From arts and film programming to trail development, these projects demonstrate how tourism can meaningfully serve broader community and environmental goals.”

The following organizations were selected through a competitive review process and approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors:

  • Alf Engen Ski Museum
  • Park City Historical Society
  • Raising Voices Film & Conversation Series
  • Winter X Country Ski Access (Osguthorpe Farm)
  • Recycle Utah (Events recycling program)
  • Summit Community Gardens (EATS)
  • National Ability Center (voluntourism program)
  • Summit Arts Market
  • East and South Summit Pop-up Film Screenings
  • Western Uinta Hut System
  • Park City Historic Mine Hiking Trail
  • North Summit newsletter
  • CREATE PC Local Artist Collective
  • Park City Opera (“The Barber of Seville”)

The Sustainable Tourism Grant program is part of a broader strategic effort to balance environmental protection with economic and community growth. Previous grants have supported projects such as parkcitytrails.org, trailhead cameras for real-time weather and parking visibility, and exhibits on local historic sites.

In addition to the grant program, the Chamber continues to back initiatives like the Zero Food Waste Restaurant Cohort, launched in June in collaboration with the Park City Community Foundation and ReFED. That program connects restaurants, catering businesses and hotels with food waste reduction strategies.
