HIDEOUT, Utah — The Hideout Town Council appointed J.D. Cronin to fill a vacant seat on the council, effective immediately. The seat was left open in the middle of the year when council member Ralph Severini was appointed interim mayor after Phil Rubin’s resignation.
“I see many exciting opportunities ahead as Hideout continues to evolve, and I’m inspired by how much has already been accomplished,” said Cronin. “My goal is to help shape our growth in a way that enhances our quality of life, protects our natural surroundings, and strengthens our community. I am ready to put my experience to work for the people of Hideout.”
Throughout his career, Cronin has worked in enterprise risk management, strategic planning, and financial leadership, which the council notes will be “helpful as the town continues to plan for responsible growth,” according to a recent release. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan.
A Hideout resident for the past four years, Cronin has served on the town’s Economic Development Committee since 2021, where he has reviewed planning proposals and provided financial and operational due diligence on development projects.
“After a selection process with four outstanding candidates, we are thrilled to welcome J.D. Cronin to the Town Council,” said Hideout Mayor Ralph Severini. “I want to sincerely thank the other applicants for their willingness to serve, and I hope they remain engaged—our community is always stronger with more participation. J.D.’s extensive background in finance and risk management is precisely the expertise we need, and I am confident his contribution will be invaluable as we work to enhance transparency and build a prosperous future for Hideout.”
