Grand Hyatt Deer Valley names Nate Hardesty as general manager and VP

PARK CITY, Utah — Grand Hyatt Deer Valley has appointed Nate Hardesty as its new general manager and area vice president, the resort announced Monday. Hardesty, a 23-year Hyatt veteran, will oversee both Grand Hyatt Deer Valley and The Residences at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley as the resort becomes the brand’s first property in Utah.

Hardesty brings more than two decades of leadership experience in hospitality, having worked in 11 U.S. cities during his Hyatt tenure. Most recently, he served as managing director at Thompson Austin and tommie Austin—leading the latter’s opening—and previously as general manager at Andaz West Hollywood in California.

“I’m honored to join the exceptional team at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley and help shape the guest experience at this landmark resort,” Hardesty said. “Drawing on my years with Hyatt across the country, I’m eager to bring thoughtful, purpose-driven hospitality to one of the most inspiring and sought-after mountain destinations in the U.S.”

His experience includes a leadership role as Regional Vice President of Sales, Americas, for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where he managed more than 60 directors of strategic corporate sales accounts and oversaw teams across the U.S., Canada and Latin America. He also held leadership roles at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe and Grand Hyatt Denver.

In 2013, Hardesty led the transition of the 1,641-room Peabody Orlando into the Hyatt Regency Orlando, now one of Hyatt’s flagship convention properties.

In his new role, Hardesty will lead hotel operations, strategic planning and guest experience initiatives at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, a property that marks the brand’s debut in the state.

Located in Deer Valley’s East Village, the resort features 436 guest rooms and residences, 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space, multiple dining options and a range of curated amenities. Once completed, the expanded terrain will offer 3,700 skiable acres.
