From Main Street to Bonanza Park: A self-guided art tour through Park City’s creative corridors

PARK CITY, Utah — Primarily known to outsiders for its winter sports, Park City attracts many visitors, but its thriving arts scene, rich in fine art, murals, and multimedia work, offers a uniquely cultural way to explore the city. From established galleries on Main Street to eclectic studios in Bonanza Park, a self-guided tour through Park City’s creative landscape reveals the city’s artistic depth.

“What sets us apart from other mountain towns is the concentration of galleries, especially on Main Street,” said Jocelyn Scudder, executive director of the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County.

The Chamber, which provides support for many local arts initiatives, has helped position the city as more than just an outdoor destination.

“There’s so much art from the top of Main Street all the way down to the Eccles Theater,” said Scudder. “That includes all the murals along the Rail Trail and galleries like Julie Nester Gallery, Red Flower Studios, and JG Gallery in Prospector.”

While the route isn’t formally defined, Scudder said there’s “a natural progression” that moves from the traditional galleries on Historic Main Street into Park City’s emerging creative neighborhoods.

Hidden gems in Bonanza Park and Prospector

While Main Street offers a polished gallery row, Scudder encouraged visitors to explore farther afield. “We’re really excited about what’s happening in the Prospector and Bonanza Park area,” she said.

It may not be the crown jewel that Main Street is, but it has some really cool, eclectic offerings. It’s becoming Park City’s version of an urban creative center.

The Kimball Art Center, Park City’s long-standing nonprofit cultural hub, offers rotating exhibitions, arts education programs and community events at 1251 Kearns Blvd.

CREATE PC, located in Prospector, is a pop-up studio and retail gallery operated by a local artist collective. The open studio layout invites visitors to engage directly with the creative process, offering a deeper connection between artists and their work. With a strong emphasis on both creation and exhibition, CREATE PC provides local artists a space to make and sell their art in one shared environment.

“There are places that locals love, but visitors might miss,” Scudder said. “If you’re looking for something off the beaten path, these neighborhoods are full of creative surprises.”
