Ballet West Academy’s growth is on point, prompting a move to a larger location

PARK CITY, Utah — Ballet West Academy is taking a leap, relocating in August to a new, expanded facility in the Silver Summit area, citing rapid enrollment growth that has outgrown the academy’s current location.

A community-wide open house is scheduled for August 23 at the new 786 Division Street location.

“The demand from Park City families has been extraordinary,” said Allison DeBona, Principal of Ballet West Academy Park City, in a statement.”We’ve reached capacity and need more space to serve our community effectively. This move allows us to welcome new students and continue providing world-class dance education.”

DeBona retired from a distinguished 15-year career as First Soloist with Ballet West in spring 2022.

The academy welcomes new students of all levels and ages, providing a world-class performing arts experience. Scholarship opportunities may be available via Youth United.

Primarily a professional ballet school that parallels the curriculum at the Salt Lake campus, Ballet West Academy in Park City recognizes that its students are involved in a variety of sports and activities. The academy offers comprehensive training in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theatre.

“We understand families have many activities to choose from,” said DeBona. “Our mission is to use our curriculum to shape dancers into being successful in anything they choose to do – not just physical or artistic activities.”

The relocation represents a significant transition for Park City’s dance community, as Ballet West Academy will now be located in the established home of Dance Tech Studios, which have served the community since 1995, and whose leaders of Ballet West Academy were thanked in a video announcement. Dance Tech Studios, a National Award-Winning Dance Program, has been a cornerstone of Park City’s performing arts landscape for three decades.

Founded as a complete dance training experience, Dance Tech Studios has provided thousands of dancers with high-quality training in a positive, family-focused atmosphere. The studio’s 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility features four extra-large, spring-floored dance studios designed and built by the owners themselves.
