PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City School District saluted its latest class of retirees, celebrating more than 380 years of combined service to local students and families.

In a Facebook post, district officials thanked the departing educators and staff, “your dedication has helped shape the lives of so many students and made our schools stronger.”

The tribute noted four retirees not pictured in the announcement — Park City High School Director of Bands Chris Taylor, Treasure Mountain Junior High ELL Specialist (English Language Learners) Elizabeth Weiss, Ecker Hill Middle School Orchestra Dennis Harrington and Parley’s Park Elementary School Librarian Cheryl Birt — and urged the community to “take a moment to congratulate and thank these amazing individuals for all they’ve given to our schools and community.”

District leaders said the group’s collective legacy of nearly four centuries underscores a deep commitment to public education in Park City.

The district wished all of the retirees “joy, adventure and well-earned rest.”
Rebecca Brenner's work has been featured in Time, the LA Times, Tin House, The Rumpus, and others. She has lived in Park City for twenty years, now with her two children and wild cattle pup. She is a member of Leadership Park City class 30, the Park City Community Foundation’s DEI cohort, founder of Mindful. Summit County, and a board member of Summit Pride. Her debut memoir, Paper House, will be published with Wayfarer Books in Fall 2025.
