PARK CITY, Utah — After years of planning and design, two new sculptures are now stationed in the Jeremy Ranch roundabout, welcoming all those who enter Summit County via the I-80 corridor. Each one is about 25 feet tall and weighs close to 8,000 pounds.

The large moose and sandhill crane were created by Don Kennell and Lisa Adler of DKLA Design. The Santa Fe-based couple took inspiration from the wildlife of the Wasatch Back to create their proposal, which was selected as the finalist for project by the Summit County Public Art Advisory Board (‘SCPAAB’). TownLift talked to the couple to learn more about their artistic process and Park City inspiration.

After local elementary students got their chance to way in, the SCPAAB hosted a public naming contest for the moose and crane, which will be unveiled after installation completes.
