Police Log: Search and Rescue missions; Driver arrested after domestic violence complaint and fleeing police

Monday, June 9

Incident Nature: Wildlife
Park City Police Department received multiple calls on Monday of wildlife in the roads. One caller reported seeing a cow and calf walking down Daly, and later another caller reported a moose in the road. There was also a report of a turkey in the road near Albertos with onlookers trying to catch it.

Incident: E-motorcycle and e-bike enforcement
About six kids on motorcycles were reported in Creekside Park. Later, a police officer observed two e-bike riders and made contact with them to help educate on proper e-bike and e-motorcycle usage

Wednesday, June 11

Incident: Warrant Service
Deputies conducted a pedestrian stop, and after conducting a records check, they found that the man had an active arrest warrant out of Summit County.  The man was taken into custody and transported to jail for the warrant.

Incident: E-motorcycle and e-bike enforcement
A couple instances of e-motorcyclists using the jumps at Creekside Park were reported. Officers directed patrol to control the situation, according to police logs. 

Thursday, June 12

Incident: DUI
Deputies were dispatched after receiving reports of a vehicle rolling. Upon arrival, deputies observed that a single vehicle appeared to have rolled multiple times. Deputies located an open container in the vehicle and observed signs of impairment in the drive. After accompanying the driver to Park City Medical Center, where the driver obtained medical attention, deputies placed the driver into custody and transported them to the jail without incident.

Incident: Pursuit + Domestic Violence
Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in progress at the Park City Outlets. After deputies locating the man and woman, who were seated in a vehicle, the man fled the scene, hitting a parked vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle at Parley’s Summit and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle continued to flee towards Salt Lake City on I-80. The vehicle exited the freeway at Exit 126, where the pursuit was terminated due to heavy traffic. The vehicle collided with another vehicle before continuing onto surface streets. Deputies were able to identify both occupants and charges are being filed. 

Friday, June 13

Incident: Theft
An unknown man stole several items and purchased an alcoholic beverage from the Chevron in Kimball Junction.
The clerk attempted to stop him but was unsuccessful. The man fled the store, and deputies have been unable to locate him.

Saturday, June 14

Incident: SAR
Summit County Search and Rescue was activated and responded to the north slope of the Uinta Mountains for a missing person incident. The person involved in this incident was located, and the case is under investigation.

Incident: SAR
Deputies received a report of a missing for a 2-year-old boy. Prior to deputies arrival, the child was located and transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Sunday, June 14

Incident: Domestic Violence
Deputies were dispatched after receiving a report of domestic violence. The investigation determined there was a physical altercation and the predominant aggressor was arrested for Simple Assault and transported to Summit County Jail.  

Incident: DUI
A driver was stopped in Kamas after deputies observed several traffic violations. Deputies performed a traffic stop and observed indications of impairment in the driver. The driver was booked into the Summit County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
