Pilot escapes plane crash at Heber City airport with minor injuries

HEBER CITY, Utah — A small aircraft flipped onto its top during a landing attempt late Tuesday morning at Heber City Airport, leaving the pilot with only minor injuries, according to local authorities.
The crash was reported at 10:58 a.m., prompting a response from Heber City Police and the Wasatch Fire District. First responders found the pilot — the plane’s sole occupant — outside the overturned aircraft, alert and walking, with cuts and abrasions.
Officials said the incident occurred during a practice grass landing. Airport staff helped right and secure the plane after the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified of the incident.
