HEBER CITY, Utah — Wasatch Women Mountain Collective Program (WWMC), in partnership with Wasatch Adventure Guides (WAG) and Stio’s Park City Mountain Studio, will host a full-day women’s fly fishing clinic on Sunday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Intro to Fly Fishing clinic is designed for beginners and will be led by WAG’s experienced female guides. The $250 fee includes all essential fly fishing gear, including rod, reel, waders, boots, and guided instruction on and off the water. The fee does not include tax, guide gratuity, or the required Utah fishing license, which all anglers will need to obtain beforehand if they do not already have one.
The clinic, which takes place in Heber City, splits its time between land and water instruction. Topics include types of fly fishing, gear setup and rigging, foundational knot tying, casting techniques, basic entomology, on-river line management, hook-setting, and fish handling.
Once registered, participants will receive a detailed event overview and gear preparation list via email.
The event is part of the seasonal programming offered by the Wasatch Women Mountain Collective, a community-driven initiative that connects women ages 18 and up from Park City, Heber Valley, and the greater Salt Lake City area through outdoor activities and skill development. Other events include a summer hiking series and winter full moon snowshoe tours.
Supported by Stio and Wasatch Adventure Guides, the collective focuses on building community and confidence through nature-based experiences led by local experts.
WWMC events are intended as networking opportunities for local residents who share a passion for the outdoors.
As an added bonus, sign up to win a pair of women’s CFS Board Pants and a Hylas Sun Shirt from Stio’s Second Turn Opportunity Drawing. The lightweight and 50+ UPF rating of the Hylas is perfect for outdoor summer activities while the CFS Board Pants also boast a 50+ UPF rating as well as water resistant four-way stretch material.
