HEBER CITY, Utah — Wasatch Trails Foundation wants to get you ready for summer with a gear swap. On Friday, May 16, from 4-6 p.m., bring new, newish, and good-condition gear for a sustainable community swap at the Wasatch County Building’s parking lot and lawn, 1891 West 3000 South, Heber City.
“As we look for ways to engage with and get in front of the community, we try to host accessible and beneficial events,” said Mia Yue, Wasatch Trails Foundation executive director. “We want to help create a pathway into outdoor recreation for all people, and this is what we came up with!”
Outdoor gear, apparel, and equipment for men, women, and children are all welcome. Bring a table or a blanket to display your wares and trade or sell. The event is cash or Venmo/Zelle-only. A $5 donation to the Wasatch Trails Foundation is suggested.
The location is near food trucks, so come peruse and grab a bite with the community.
Entry into snow sports is a hurdle for many, which can also be true of summer sports. With the gear swap, community members can leverage one another for knowledge, support, and new-to-them gear that may not be accessible otherwise.
Wasatch Trails Foundation advocates for the planning, building, and maintaining of year-round trail systems in the Wasatch Back.
