New Jersey pair arrested with over 100 pounds of marijuana

SUMMIT COUNTY — Two individuals from New Jersey were arrested over the weekend after a Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) trooper discovered more than 100 pounds of marijuana during a routine traffic stop on I-80 near Wanship.
According to court documents and information from ABC4, Martin Davis Little, 40, and Shadaya Yvonne Weaver, 28, were pulled over for speeding near milepost 156. Upon approaching the vehicle, the trooper reported detecting a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the van.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a significant quantity of marijuana, including boxes filled with marijuana plant material and pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes,” with THC content ranging between 28% and 30%. The trooper also reportedly found marijuana residue for personal use and a receipt from a dispensary in Montana.
Neither suspect possessed a valid medical marijuana card. Little reportedly told the trooper that he believed he was transporting hemp.
Little and Weaver were taken into custody and booked into the Summit County Jail. Both face multiple charges, including:
- Second-degree felony possession of marijuana
- Third-degree felony possession with intent to distribute
- Misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
Little also received an additional citation for speeding.
