PARK CITY, Utah — Intermountain Health Park City Hospital will host a free mental health awareness event focused on neurodivergence on May 20 as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.
The event, titled “Neurodivergence: Challenging Perceptions, Shaping Understanding,” will run from 6-7 p.m. in the hospital’s Blair Education Center.
Clinicians from Intermountain Health’s Psychiatry and Counseling Clinic in Park City and Solstice Counseling and Wellness in Heber City are collaborating on the program, which aims to reduce stigma around seeking behavioral health care.
The session will cover autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), addressing how these conditions can interact, available treatment options, and strategies for engaging with neurodivergent individuals.
Presenters include Shawn Miller, PhD, owner of Solstice Counseling and Wellness; Colton Miller, PhD, a psychologist with Intermountain Health’s Psychiatry and Counseling Clinic; and three psychology PhD candidates: Lanie Belland and Kyndal Edwards from Intermountain Health, and Ryan O’Keefe from Solstice.
The program will consist of three short presentations followed by a question-and-answer session with the providers. To learn more about this event, visit the Park City Hospital website.
