PARK CITY, Utah—Summit County’s Lands & Natural Resources Department is recruiting volunteers for a willow-planting workday on the 910 Cattle Ranch, which will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 15.
Participants will cut and plant willows along a tributary of East Canyon Creek to stabilize streambanks and improve wildlife habitat. The three-hour project requires walking across uneven ground and working in or near water; organizers recommend long sleeves, pants, muck boots, hats, sunscreen, and water in case of unpredictable spring weather.
Minors are welcome but must always be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.
Registered volunteers will receive a confirmation email during the week of May 12 with driving and parking instructions. Carpooling is encouraged. The 910 Ranch sits at the northwest end of Jeremy Ranch, where Jeremy Road becomes the dirt N E Canyon Road.
Advance registration is required through an online form.
