From sushi to empanadas, Creative Academy’s summer classes go global

PARK CITY, Utah – Deer Valley Resort has announced its Creative Academy culinary series for this summer, offering a diverse lineup of cooking classes and tasting events suitable for all skill levels. Held at the Deer Valley Plaza Building from 3:30 to 5 p.m., the classes will be led by industry professionals and local experts.
The series kicks off with The Secrets of BBQ with Chef Ryan Arensdorf scheduled for Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6. Chef Arensdorf will share techniques for mastering barbecue flavors, smoking methods, and seasoning secrets.
On Saturday, July 12, the ‘Little Chefs Culinary Series’ begins with Cupcake Decorating 101, where aspiring young bakers can learn the fundamentals of cupcake design and frosting techniques.
The following day, July 13, guests can indulge in a Sushi & Sake Tasting, exploring the art of sushi rolling paired with sake selections.
The lineup continues with Summer Salads and Dressings from the Deer Valley Café on Saturday, July 19, followed by a Summer Garden Party Hors D’oeuvres Class on Sunday, July 20. Guests will learn to create fresh, seasonal appetizers perfect for summer gatherings.
July wraps up with Pie and Beer on Saturday, July 26, and Pasta from Scratch on Sunday, July 27, giving participants hands-on experience in classic comfort food creations.
In August, the series resumes with French Cuisine and Wine Tasting with Duckhorn on Sunday, Aug. 3.
Other highlights include Little Chefs: Pizza on Saturday, Aug. 9, and a Knife Skills Class with New West KnifeWorks on Sunday, Aug. 10.
Cocktail enthusiasts can join the High West Cocktail Class on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Cheese and wine aficionados can explore Wine and Cheese Pairing: Gold Creek Farms & Bon Vivant Imports on Sunday, Aug. 17.
The summer concludes with a tribute to signature Deer Valley treats and global flavors: Deer Valley Carrot Cake on Saturday, Aug. 23, Little Chefs: Cookie Decorating on Sunday, Aug. 24, Taste of Italy: Bon Vivant Wines on Saturday, Aug. 30, and Colombian Empanadas on Sunday, Aug. 31.
