From après to e-bikes: Delicious Cities journeys through Park City

PARK CITY, Utah — Inbal Baum, founder of Delicious Cities and Chief Eating Officer, describes her journey into culinary tourism as a natural extension of her lifelong passion for food and travel. “It always came down and comes down to being around food and talking about food and sharing the joy around it,” Baum said.

Baum launched in Israel 14 years ago, just as food tourism began to flourish. She credits a period of personal introspection — what she likened to an “Eat, Pray, Love” moment — as the catalyst for turning her passion into a profession.

When the pandemic halted in-person experiences, Baum and her husband quickly adapted by creating corporate virtual food events, sending curated tasting and mixology kits worldwide. “Despite people coming back to in person, it’s still a big need in the corporate world,” she said, highlighting the sustained demand for virtual culinary gatherings.

Delicious Cities expanded beyond Israel, touring in cities such as New York, Miami, Philadelphia, London, and, most recently, Park City, where the Baum family relocated in 2021.

She chose Park City for its welcoming community and rich history, especially its connection to spirits. “Tours in Park City makes so much sense,” Baum said, referring to the spirited Après Local Craft Alcohol Tour which she considers both a nod to Utah’s unique culture and an exploration of its local craft scene.

Moving out of ski season and into bike season, Baum is working on a Park City e-biking food tour.

“The e-bike tours are still in the works. I definitely have my favorites, and the business owners are so open to it, which I love. It’s one of the things I love about Park City is that owners are just really, really open to innovation and collaboration.”

“The places that we choose for our tours are all locally owned, and I think that’s just getting harder and harder to find everywhere,” she said, underscoring the value on authentic, community-rooted experiences.

Ultimately, Delicious Cities centers on curation and connection.

“You’re not going to plan for yourself to hop around four places,” she noted, highlighting the advantage of guided tours that bundle multiple experiences into a single outing. Her goal is to offer participants a thoughtfully curated snapshot of the best local offerings — one bite, sip, and story at a time.

In terms of logistics, Baum credits her success in managing tours across multiple cities to her network of passionate local guides. “I found great people. I have amazing guides in all the places,” she said. She also pointed out the importance of flexibility, recalling a recent challenge in London when half of the tour locations had closed, forcing her team to quickly adapt the itinerary.

Looking ahead, Baum recently became a certified travel advisor and is specializing in multi-day food-focused trips and retreats, with experiences planned in Israel, Hawaii, as well as other exciting foodie destinations in Europe and Asia.

A mother of two, she recounted taking her children on food tours, delighting in their willingness to try new dishes in unfamiliar environments. “When you’re in that environment, you’re willing to try more things,” she said, adding that even her initially hesitant son has grown adventurous in his tastes—not to mention friend’s husbands expanding their culinary horizons.

Baum’s evolving vision reflects her commitment to creating experiences that are both memorable and accessible, whether for corporate groups, visiting tourists, bachelorette/wedding celebrations, or locals rediscovering their own city.
