PARK CITY, Utah — Park City School District will rally students, families and staff for Bike to School Day on Friday, May 9, encouraging riders to trade four wheels for two and pedal to campuses across the district.
Events begin at 7:20 a.m. at McPolin Elementary School, where groups will depart from neighborhood meeting points — Park City Heights, the PC MARC, Aspen Villas, Prospector Park and Comstock Drive — and converge on campus for free breakfast, safety giveaways and a bicycle-safety celebration.
Parley’s Park, Jeremy Ranch, Trailside Elementary and Ecker Hill Middle School will greet cyclists from 7:30 a.m. until the first bell with snacks, drinks and safety-themed activities. Park City High School and Treasure Mountain Junior High are also urging students to ride and learn more about ongoing sustainability initiatives.
The district’s celebration is a joint effort with Park City Municipal Corporation, Summit County, Basin Recreation and other community partners, including the Park City Police Department, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Summit Bike Share, American Bicycling Education Association, Park City Trail Rangers and Mountain Trails Foundation.
Organizers are stressing safety.
