PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Police Department is participating in the National Prescription Drug #TakeBackDay on Saturday, April 26, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Bring your unused or expired prescription medications to the Police Department at 2060 Park Avenue for disposal. Proper disposal helps prevent misuse, protects the environment, and supports a safer community.
This initiative helps prevent medications from falling into the wrong hands and contributing to the ongoing drug overdose epidemic in the United States, which is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat.
The DEA stresses the importance of this event, saying that “removing unneeded medications from their homes is a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.” The agency is dedicated to creating safer and healthier communities through reducing drug-related violence and overdose deaths.
Visit the DEA’s website for resources on medication disposal, treatment for substance use disorders, and the drug overdose epidemic in the United States.
