Park City Councilmember Ryan Dickey announces mayoral run

PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Councilmember Ryan Dickey announced Tuesday he is running for mayor, pledging to bring collaborative, results-driven leadership to guide the city through a period of growth and Olympic preparation.

Dickey, who was first appointed to the council in 2021 and elected to a full term in 2023, said he is focused on uniting the community and advancing key city projects with a more decisive and strategic approach.

“With major projects ahead, continued growth across our region, and the 2034 Olympics on the horizon, this is a pivotal moment,” Dickey said in a statement. “I’m focused on bringing people together, making thoughtful decisions, and delivering results that leave a lasting, positive impact on our community.”

Dickey’s campaign announcement comes as current Mayor Nann Worel prepares to step away from elected office. He credited Worel’s collaborative leadership for strengthening regional partnerships and said he hopes to build on that foundation.

Dickey’s priorities include moving forward with several long-discussed projects, such as the new senior center, redevelopment of the five-acre parcel in Bonanza Park, and the Highway 248 park-and-ride facility. He said mayoral leadership will be essential in helping the council shorten decision-making cycles and complete projects that have languished.

A longtime local, Dickey and his wife have lived in Park City for 14 years and are raising two daughters who attend local public schools. In addition to his council work, he is the co-founder of Model HOA, a property management company, and a real estate broker. He previously served as chair of the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission and currently sits on the board of the Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District.

Dickey also has a background in management consulting with Accenture and IBM, and holds an MBA from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree from The Colorado College.

In 2023, Dickey earned the most votes ever recorded for a City Council candidate in a non-mayoral election year, according to the city’s records. He said he hopes this year’s mayoral race continues in the same positive and forward-looking spirit.

“As a city councilor and small business owner raising a family in Park City, I care deeply about Park City’s long-term future,” he said.
