HEBER CITY, Utah — The Heber City Council has approved a ban on the use of fireworks in designated wildland areas, citing ongoing hazardous environmental conditions and fire risk.
The decision, made in accordance with Utah Code, prohibits fireworks in mountainous, brush-covered, forested, or dry grass-covered areas, as well as within 200 feet of waterways, trails, ravines, and similar terrain. The restriction also applies to the Wildland Urban Interface, where residential areas border undeveloped land, and certain limited zones beyond those high-risk areas.
City officials emphasized that the ban is necessary to protect lives, property, and natural resources during the dry season.
