Utah ski resorts announce closing dates and spring celebrations

UTAH—Several Utah ski resorts have confirmed their closing dates for the 2024-25 season, with Snowbird once again planning to extend operations into late May.

Snowbird is slated to close on May 26, the latest announced date in the state. Known for its high elevation and deep spring snowpack, the resort typically remains open longer than others in Utah.

Brighton is scheduled to wrap up its season May 18, giving skiers and snowboarders another option for late-spring turns.

Alta Ski Area and Deer Valley Resort will both close April 20. Alta’s closing day coincides with its annual end-of-season celebration known as Frank, a popular event that draws locals and visitors for costumes, music and spring skiing.

Park City Mountain Resort plans to shut down operations April 21, with the Pond Skim scheduled for April 12

Eagle Point and Sundance are both set to close April 6, marking the earliest closing dates among those announced so far.

The following resorts have not yet announced official closing dates: Beaver Mountain, Brian Head, Cherry Peak, Nordic Valley, Powder Mountain, Snowbasin, Solitude and Woodward Park City.
