PARK CITY, Utah – Park City School District is celebrating a major milestone with the grand opening of Ecker Hill Middle School’s newly completed expansion. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for March 27, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and the community is invited to join district leaders, staff, and students in marking the occasion.
The expansion supports the district’s upcoming grade realignment, which will bring 6th through 8th graders under one roof starting next school year. The project includes a renovated cafeteria, a brand-new gym, a central “Forum” space, and two modern wings with upgraded classrooms and facilities.
Superintendent Lyndsay Huntsman emphasized the expansion’s importance in creating a dynamic, student-centered environment. “In alignment with the Association for Middle-Level Education (AMLE) philosophy, our community supported expanding our middle school facilities to accommodate an additional grade level,” Huntsman said. “This expansion will create a dynamic and engaging environment that nurtures every student’s growth, preparing them for success in high school and beyond”.
The ceremony will feature remarks from district leaders and project partners, followed by guided tours of the new facility. Attendees will have the chance to explore the upgraded spaces and learn how they’re designed to support student learning and success.
The expansion is part of a larger facilities improvement plan funded by the 2021 school bond, reflecting the district’s commitment to providing top-notch learning environments for all students.
Parents, community members, and local media are encouraged to attend and celebrate this exciting new chapter for Ecker Hill Middle School.
