Ski icon Glen Plake brings Down Home Tour to Brian Head Resort

BRIAN HEAD, Utah – Legendary skier Glen Plake made a stop at Brian Head Resort as part of his Down Home Tour, a grassroots tradition that celebrates small, independent ski areas across the country.

Plake, known for his iconic mohawk and infectious energy, launched the Down Home Tour in 1991 with his wife, Kimberly, to connect with local ski communities away from the spotlight of big-name resorts.

During his visit, Plake skied with guests, shared stories, and embraced Brian Head’s community-driven vibe. His arrival came just as 10 inches of fresh snow blanketed the resort between Feb. 13-15, setting up prime conditions to close out President’s Day weekend.

Plake’s tour continues to spotlight the soul of skiing, bringing the sport back to its roots—one small resort at a time.
