PARK CITY, Utah — Affectionately known as “Ca” by her friends and family, or “Noni” by her grandchildren, Carolyn Pindari Nicholas passed away peacefully earlier in February after a three-decade battle with breast cancer. She was 85.
Nicholas was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, David “Chip” Nicholas, who died in 2007. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Nicholas Hartmann and husband Jonathan, of Massachusetts; daughter Kristina Nicholas Biglow and husband Doug of Park City; and sister Marylyn Pindari of Florida.
“Noni” also leaves behind four grandchildren: Nicola and Tucker Hartmann, and Lauren and Christopher Biglow.
Born in Massachusetts on June 9, 1939, she maintained close relationships with her “Ride-or-Die” girlfriends for over 75 years. Her Vermont friends were also a constant presence in her life.
In 1993, the Nicholases moved from Vermont to Park City, where they were joined by many adventure-seeking East Coast friends pursuing their love for skiing.
Nicholas enjoyed working at Cole Sport in Park City, where she was thrilled to be surrounded by new friends while promoting the latest in high-fashion ski apparel. She was often seen on the mountain at Deer Valley wearing the most stylish gear.
Nicholas requested that people remember her and all of the “fun times” privately instead of holding an immediate memorial service. The family will celebrate her life in the spring, enjoying warmer weather and her favorite yellow flowers.
The family requests that donations be made in Nicholas’ name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness. Donors can visit the website, select “Donate,” check the box to “Dedicate This Donation,” and write in her name.
