Park City’s Bingham Cyclery to host free youth e-bike safety night

PARK CITY, Utah — As the popularity of electric bicycles surges among local youth, a Park City bike shop is taking steps to address safety concerns with a free educational event next month.

Bingham Cyclery will host a youth e-bike safety night on Tuesday, March 4, from 6-7 p.m. at their Quarry Village location.

“We’re in a unique position to witness the actual ridership of our community,” said Bingham Cyclery owner Angela Wright. “We love that so many kids and their parents are choosing to ride to work, school, and other activities. We also see a lot of unsafe riding practices, with very few opportunities for education. We plan to make education more accessible by hosting more safety events with our community partners.”

The free clinic aims to educate young riders and parents on three key aspects of e-bike safety: mechanical integrity, understanding how speed and weight affect handling, and the importance of proper safety gear.

Wright noted that e-bikes serve as excellent transportation options that can reduce traffic congestion and pollution while improving riders’ health and well-being — provided they’re used safely.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own e-bikes and helmets for free safety and fit checks during the event.

While the event is free, organizers request RSVPs by texting or calling 435-731-9633.

Bingham Cyclery operates four locations across Utah, with stores in Park City, Sunset, Salt Lake City, and Sandy.
