Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame calls for 2025 nominees

PARK CITY, Utah — The Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame is calling for nominations to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to snow sports in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. The Hall of Fame, administered by the Alf Engen Ski Museum, recognizes achievements in competition, innovation, development, and overall promotion of snow sports in the region.

Anyone can nominate a deserving candidate for induction into the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame. Nominees must fit into at least one of the following categories:

  • Ski Competition: Recognizing athletes, coaches, officials, and organizers who have excelled in various skiing disciplines.
  • Ski Pioneers: Honoring those who have developed ski areas, facilities, and backcountry access.
  • Ski Innovators: Acknowledging individuals who have advanced ski education, safety, equipment, and media coverage.
  • Inspirational Skiers: Celebrating those who have demonstrated exceptional skill and prowess in the sport.

To submit a nomination, individuals must complete the official Nomination Form, available in PDF and Word format, and provide supporting materials, including:

  • A cover letter detailing the reasons for the nomination
  • Two letters of support
  • A short biography (maximum 200 words)
  • A detailed biography (maximum 1,000 words)
  • A headshot and nine additional photos suitable for publication

All nomination materials must be submitted by March 1 via mail or email to the Alf Engen Ski Museum.

Once received, nominations undergo a rigorous review by the Selection Committee, composed of 13 experts in Intermountain West ski history. This committee ensures nominees meet the established criteria before forwarding the final slate to the Voting Panel in March/April.

The Voting Panel selects up to three inductees annually. After certification by the Board of Trustees of the Alf Engen Ski Museum, the new inductees are publicly announced.

The induction ceremony takes place in August, where honorees are formally recognized, and their commemorative plaques are installed in the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame. This annual event celebrates the rich history and outstanding contributions of individuals who have shaped the region’s ski industry.
