F1 Academy driver and Park City native Lia Block partners with Rockstar Energy

PURCHASE, N.Y. — Rockstar Energy announced Tuesday the addition of 18-year-old professional race car driver Lia Block to its athlete partnership program, marking her as the first female driver on the brand’s roster.

Block, daughter of late motorsports icon Ken Block, has quickly established herself in the racing world. At 16, she became the youngest champion in American Rally Association history, winning the ARA Open Two-Wheel-Drive Class Championship in 2023. A year later, she made history as the youngest driver and first woman to compete in the Nitrocross Group E class.

Selected to represent Williams Racing in Formula One’s women-focused F1 ACADEMY grid in 2024, Block is now preparing for the 2025 season in open-wheel racing.

“For as long as I can remember, racing has been my passion,” said Block. “To be able to wear the iconic gold star and represent Rockstar Energy on the track as I step into this next chapter of my career is an incredible milestone – especially as the first female driver on their roster. I hope this partnership inspires more women to break into racing and chase their dreams.”

The energy drink brand aims to support high-performance athletes with sustained energy needed for competition.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lia Block to the Rockstar Energy family,” said Steve Mateus, director of sports marketing at Rockstar Energy. “In her 18 years, Lia has solidified her place as a trailblazer in the sport, making history and headlines. Her relentless drive, competitive spirit, and passion for the sport make her a natural fit for the Rockstar team. We are excited to be a part of Lia’s journey as she continues to achieve greatness, especially as we head into the F1 Academy season.”

Block’s signing follows Rockstar’s recent addition of professional golfer Charley Hull. Block joins a roster that includes three-time Formula Drift champion Fredric Aasbø, Olympic medalists, and X Games competitors.
