Park City Chamber maps strategic priorities for 2025 legislative session
PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau released its legislative policy agenda Tuesday as the Utah State Legislature begins its 45-day session as of Jan. 21.
The agenda outlines priorities including economic development, environmental sustainability and workforce initiatives for the chamber, which represents more than 1,000 businesses in Summit County.
Key focus areas include maintaining business regulations and tax structures, promoting renewable energy investments, accelerating transportation projects, and addressing short-term rental compliance and workforce housing needs.
“With over 1,000 businesses represented, our focus is on maintaining a stable business environment and supporting Summit County’s economy,” said Jennifer Wesselhoff, president and CEO of the Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau. “A strong tourism economy, workforce stabilization, affordable housing and environmental preservation are critical to our success, especially as we prepare for the 2034 Winter Olympics.”
The chamber’s agenda emphasizes protecting resources like the Great Salt Lake while promoting solar, wind and geothermal energy development. Transportation priorities include improvements to SR224/Kimball Junction and SR 248.
The legislative session runs through March 7.
